We were on vacation last week. We went to a zoo and then to Branson Missouri. Unfortunately our truck, which we just had some repair work done on a few weeks back, failed us in the market parking lot of a town pretty far from where we live. We had been discussing buying a new car but had decided to wait until next year. After sitting out in the heat for about an hour waiting for help to arrive we changed our mind and went to a car dealership that very evening and bought a new car. It’s a Hyundai Elantra and in addition to being a very pretty car, it also gets terrific gas mileage; up to 40 MPG. Considering that it’s a midsized car, we think that’s pretty good. We had to have our old truck towed and repaired again. Come to find out, it was the fault of some local mechanics that did our repairs a month ago. They left some electrical wires laying on the exhaust manifold and they melted and shorted out. The repairmen are our neighbors and good people so I guess we will not make them pay for it, but its aggravating to say the least. That was the first time in many years that I have taken a car to be repaired, instead of doing it myself, and it may be the last time for awhile. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Anyway we now have a new car and a new payment to make lol, but we both like the car a lot and agreed that we are glad we got it.
