There are many things to consider before replacing your carpet

My wife and I really need to buy some new carpet for our home. Our carpet is more than 18 years old now and is definitely showing some wear and tear. What we are starting to realize is that there are many different kinds of carpet to choose from. Not only are there many styles and colors, there are many different materials to choose from. We have been doing some reading online to try to figure out which is the best carpet choice for us.

One of the major characteristics of carpet that people need to know before they make a decision is what kind of fiber the carpet is made from. Basically there are natural and synthetic fibers, and both have advantages. Synthetic carpet fibers include nylon, polyester, rayon, and polypropolene. These are all produced using petroleum products; nylon and polypropolene are both very durable and long lasting, while polyester is better at accepting bright colored dyes and is softer. Rayon is sometimes used for area rugs, but is not a good choice for carpets as it is hard to dye.

Natural carpet fibers include cotton, jute, and wool. They all come from animal or plant sources and have the advantage of appealing to the "natural" crowd. Wool carpet is expensive because of high demand and short supply, so it is not usually for the common working man. It is however, an excellent choice for luxury carpet as it is long lasting and resistant to soiling, staining, and crushing. It is also fire resistant. It is considered the high end carpet. Acrylics were a popular substitute for wool in the 1960's because they look and feel similar to wool. The fiber has a tendency to pill and fuzz however, and is not a good choice for longevity.

So what is the best fiber to choose for your new carpet? Experts recommend nylon because it is strong, holds dye easily, and is readily available. There is a lot of carpet information available on the internet. I highly recommend that you do some research before you buy, just like my wife and I did. It could save you a lot of trouble in the future.

I’m sick of politically correct and the lack of common sense

I have written about this subject before, but I still can’t believe what my eyes are seeing. Our world has gone completely crazy! Common sense no longer exists; it’s as extinct as the dinosaurs. People act without thinking, without decency, without morals; in fact with no thought at all, except for themselves. Our government not only condones it, they lead the way. I swear if I hear the term “politically correct” one more time I am going to scream. What is politically correct anyway? It seems to be nothing more than a way of beating around the proverbial bush instead of telling the simple truth. Black is no longer black; wrong is no longer wrong; everything is now explainable by science so that makes it ok. Rapists and murderers were mistreated as children, so their criminal actions are now excusable. Short people are vertically challenged. Does that mean that fat people are spacially challenged? I’m sick of it all. Fat is fat and black is black. Neither is a crime as far as I know. Our country is built on the promise of freedom of speech, but suddenly we can only use that right if we don’t offend anyone else. Let me be politically incorrect and state a few beliefs of my own here. I don’t like politicians because they are liars and cheats. I don’t like gays because it is an un-natural act, not to mention filthy and obscene. If you do like gays, that’s your right. I do believe in God and I don’t think that a few nuts have the right to tell me that I can’t pray where and when I wish, and my kids as well. If you don’t believe in God, that’s your right, just don’t try to tell me that I can’t. I know that I have the right to own guns and ammo for them and nobody has the right to tell me that I can’t. If you don’t want guns that’s up to you. My guns belong to me; I am a free man with the right to practice what I please, as long as I don’t hurt innocent people in the process. I have the right to be politically incorrect, and I do choose to be. I like honesty, integrity, living by my common sense and hard work. Oh by the way; I definitely don’t like the slugs that live off our welfare system. No, I didn’t say everyone that is on welfare, I said the slugs. That’s another politically incorrect word, but it has a definite meaning. I mean the low life’s that are able to work, but choose not too. I choose for my tax dollars to NOT be used to support such people, but that would be politically correct and might hurt the slugs feelings. We can’t have that….

Save a bundle and put the fun back into shopping

We all know that times are hard and money is scarce; We just can't stretch our paychecks far enough to live in the way that we are accustomed. It seems that the harder we work, the more prices go up on everything, and we gain nothing from our extra labor. Christmas is right around the corner and a lot of us are wondering just how we can come up with the extra dollars to buy gifts for our loved ones. It is discouraging to say the least, and it's enough to take the fun right out of Christmas. Don't despair; today I found a website that will not only stretch your money farther than you could imagine possible, but they will also put the fun back into shopping.

The lowest prices online

It is a place called nomorerack, and they have such insane deals that there have been articles written about the nomorerack scam. There is no scam however, just deals that will blow your mind. In fact some of the deals are so good that they call them insanity deals, and for good reason; most retailers can't come close to offering anything similar. Nomorerack is not one of those bid sites that gets your money by making you purchase expensive bids; on nomorerack you buy the item outright. The only catch is that the deal only lasts for 24 hours, so you have to act fast.

How it works

The way it works is this; nomorerack gets close outs, cancelled order items, and overstocks from manufacturers. They buy these items at low cost and pass the savings on to the customer, sometimes as much as 90% off retail value. Each day at 12:00 pm they start to post new deals, and it's first come, first served. These deals will keep popping up all during the day, from time to time, so you will need to visit often. You will also need to register and make a profile on their website. This will make it fast and easy for you to take advantage of the deals that appeal to you. Check out  nomorerack reviews and see what satisfied shoppers are saying about the fabulous bargains available. To make it even better, you can receive free items for referring your friends to nomorerack.

Low cost shipping adds to the savings

I know what you are thinking; "sure I will save a bundle on the products, but they will probably stick it to me on shipping and handling". Not to worry, shipping and handling is a flat rate of $2.99, no matter what you order. One of the first things I did when I found nomorerack is to bookmark them. I intend to register and then start watching for the "insanity deals" that they have. You should do the same. You will find out that Christmas shopping can once more be affordable and fun, thanks to nomorerack.com.

Save a bundle on eyeglasses

Taking good care of your eyes should be a top priority with everyone. Unfortunately it can sometimes be pretty expensive, so finding ways to save money on our eyewear is a definite bonus for us all. That's why I am recommending that you check out Zenni Optical online. They have cheap eyeglasses that are high quality and very stylish.

So how does Zenni Optical keep their prices so low when everyone else is asking exorbitant prices for their eyeglasses? The answer is really simple; Zenni only sells their own brand of eyeglasses. They don't sell the expensive name brands; they have no middle men to add to their prices; and no retail overhead, as they sell directly to you, the customer. Amazingly, considering the super low prices, Zenni uses materials and manufacturing techniques that are modern and of high quality.

Zenni Optical provides high quality stylish eyewear, at prices that will blow your mind. You should use them for all of your eyeglass needs. Buy an extra pair for the kids in case they lose one. Buy several pairs for yourself so you will always have the right style and color to compliment your dress. Check out Zenni Optical, and get ready to save a bundle, without giving up any quality.

Help! I'm a Mom of Two Teenagers!

Guest post from: Natalie Walter

Teenagers!!! It should almost be a bad word. It’s the process when you’re sweet and cuddly baby turns into a mean and nasty monster for approximately 7 years. During this process, they are trying to learn how to be responsible, respectful little people but you would never know it by their actions and attitudes. Similar to a caterpillar, they should go into a cocoon for these 7 years to emerge as a beautiful butterfly and save us all trouble of having to deal with them in these trying teenage years. Unfortunately, we can’t send them into a cocoon, but luckily somewhere around 20 years of age, they start acting like people again....or so I’ve heard and holding out hope for. I’ve got 2 kids both in their teen years and at times, I want to kick my little chickies right out of my nest and make them fly on their own. Other times, I can see they’re trying to be sweet but their hormones are making them into monsters. Either way, I still love them and want to keep them safe. We recently researched Family HOME SECURITY and decided it was what we needed. Both teenagers are home a good bit when my husband and I aren’t, and this helps us feel a little better about their safety.

Get rid of your trash the easy way

My wife and I have been discussing how much junk we are accumulating here at our home. It has gotten away from us over the years, to the point that we are either going to have to find a way to get rid of some of it, or build a building just for storage. It's funny really that a couple can acquire so many "treasures" over the years. What a good idea it would be for someone to start a business providing Shenandoah junk removal to help others get rid of their unwanted junk.

Actually there is a business like that. All you have to do is call 1-800-Got-Junk and they will send their Shenandoah junk removal team over to remove your unwanted items, such as refrigerators, computers, furniture, mattresses, even leaf or trash removal. They will take care of you in record time. One of the reviews that I read from a satisfied customer said that they even left the garage swept clean, and only took a little over an hour to complete their tasks.

If you are feeling smothered by unwanted past treasures, like my wife and I, there is now a solution. You don't have to do anything but pick up the phone, call Shenandoah junk removal, and help will be on the way!

Another holiday season

Wow, it’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is nearly here again. Time passes so quickly. It seems that the older we get, the quicker it goes, except that now the young people talk about how quickly time passes also. I remember that the Bible says that the closer we get to the end of time, the quicker it will go.

We had a wonderful celebration with our family for Thanksgiving. It seemed that everyone enjoyed it very much. Of course the food was scrumptious and everyone ate too much. My wife made her famous Pancit and some tropical fruit salad. My family loves her Pancit and can’t get enough of it.

We went shopping Friday and got in on a couple of the Black Friday sales. We stayed out of the stores until nearly noon to give the nuts time to clear out. We heard of one person that pulled a knife on another in a local Walmart store, over an xbox. There is also a story on the news about a lady (lady?) that sprayed other customers with pepper spray so she would have first access to some on sale electronics. Lol, I can’t imagine wanting anything in a store bad enough to do something like that, but I guess it takes all kinds. Anyway, hope all of you had an enjoyable holiday like we did. God bless…

Scrubs with high style, and comfort

Have you ever noticed how drab and unattractive nursing uniforms are? It seems to me that a person involved in a medical career might start to dread going to work, just because of the boring clothes they have to wear. In the past, the hum drum scrubs were a necessity, but in today's modern world of many choices, that is no longer true. If you are in the medical profession you should check out http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/Scrubs-for-Women/.  There you will find a wide selection of great looking designer scrubs that are handmade of some of the finest cloths in the world.

Imagine how much better you will feel going to work dressed in an uniform that not only fits you well, but is comfortable and stylish. You can get your new uniforms tailored for a superb fit, and with the high quality fabrics and workmanship, they should last you for a long time. It's time to break away from the pack and make a statement. Be the envy of your department; start a new fad. Check out the links above and lets get stylin!

Then and now

I was thinking today of how many changes I have seen in my life. It is unbelievable how many things are different, and how far technology has come in the last 50 years. I’m not yet an old man, though not young either, but I have lived through a lot of groundbreaking, memorable events; such as the assassination of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King; I have witnessed the first man on the moon; I remember when all of the now revered  old muscle cars were new. I recall when computers could take up the space of a large room, and still not have nearly the computing ability of small computers now. I remember Nixon and Watergate, the Vietnam war, Woodstock and the hippie generation. I even remember when a lot of work was done with horses instead of tractors. Makes me sound old doesn’t it? But I am not yet an old man. I remember when the last country schools, often just one room for several grades, were still in operation; in fact I attended one for a couple of years. I remember when you could easily identify every car on the road as a Chevy, Ford, Dodge, etc. There was only a few of each instead of the bewildering menagerie that we have today. Foreign cars were practically nonexistent, except for an occasional Volkswagen Beetle. It was ok though because owning a car made in a foreign nation would have been considered unpatriotic anyway.

I remember the Iranian hostage crisis, the Gulf war, Pop for 10 cents, and gasoline as low as 21 cents per gallon. I remember when kids of any age could buy cigarettes, and they cost next to nothing. It’s weird, but today we have thousands of time and labor saving devices to make our lives easier; and other devices to keep us amused and entertained, but it seems that we have less time, less fun, and are more unhappy than we have ever been. I love a lot of the new technology and I am as guilty as the rest in wanting every better mousetrap that comes along, but sometimes I long for a time past, when things were simpler and people went around with smiles on their faces and a friendly word for others. I guess we were just ignorant in those days and didn’t have enough technology to tell us that we couldn’t be happy with so little.

My House

Thanks for the post from Lynn Guy

Next Sunday the boys are going to be coming over to watch all the NFL games at my house. I have been asking my wife for the last several weeks if she would mind cooking something for me and the guys because every time we go over to each others houses there is always great food and the beer is always ice cold so I cannot let my friends down. The good news is my wife is a really great cook so I am guessing that my house will probably be the house that all the guys want to come visit every time a game is on. The fact that my wife is such a good cook might be the main reason that she doesn’t want to cook because I can tell she doesn’t want the guys coming over every single Sunday, she likes the system that we have now of switching it up every week. Ultimately, I know that my wife won't let me down she will make her amazing finger foods and everyone is going to love it. Plus she will be extra excited when I tell her about Dish Satellite Tv because I know she's been talking about it for a long time. I guess a marriage is a constant give and take.

A really good idea to make the holidays more affordable and enjoyable

You know how hard it is to get everyone together for the Christmas holidays. Sometimes it's hard to find someone in your family that wants to have a big crowd of people at their home, and sometimes there is just not enough room for everyone. I found a solution today that is really neat. Why not take your holiday breaks just like you would take a vacation? You could rent a nice holiday cottage, villa, or even a chateau somewhere, share the cost with everyone attending, and voila, Christmas is fun with no fuss and no muss! The rental could be in your own country, or even oversea in some agreed upon location that would please everyone.

I was thinking about what a nice holiday vacation our family would have if we had our get-together somewhere in the Caribbean. All stress would be gone, the weather would be perfect; no snow or ice, no cold to contend with. We could have a true vacation and go from Christmas, right through New Year's.

Actually there is no end to places that a group of people could go for their holidays. Sharing the cost would open up many more possibilities. It would be a good idea to take a look at some travel guides right now and get a head start on planning. There are so many options, depending upon how much money your group has; everything from low budget to no budget. I am glad I discovered this idea. It can make Christmas and New Year's so much more fun!

My Birthday and remembering my life

Today is my birthday and it is a day of thanks for me. I am blessed to have been on this earth for 53 years. I have spent some of the day reminiscing and remembering. Not all of my years have been good, in fact some have been downright miserable, but I have learned from all of them.

I believe that in our lives we have to experience many things. I believe that we need to feel all of the different emotions that life can bring us. In my life I have felt love, hate, trust, betrayal, peace, rage, hope, despair, and sometimes even total emptiness; I have both given advice and comfort, and received them. I have sometimes wanted to give up, but never could figure out how. I have had aspirations to greatness, and I have felt lower than the lowest; I have walked away, and been walked away from; I have shamed and been shamed. I have doubted, and been doubted. I have encouraged, and I have been an encouragement to others; I have believed in what was not real, and I have refused to see what was real; I have been a step for others, going both up and down; I have helped and I have hurt; Most of all, I have loved and been loved.

Today is special to me, partly because of all the things I listed above, for all were things that have made me what I am, but also my day is special because the one I love most is here with me, my wife. My life has been just that: a life; a life that has been through most of the spectrum of emotions, both good and bad. I liken life to a road going cross country; sometimes it’s smooth, sometimes it’s downhill, but sometimes it’s bumpy, rough, and steep. Sometimes so steep and rough that we can’t seen any way to continue on our course. There is however always hope as long as we breathe, so we can never give up. If we keep on going, our road will sooner or later once again be smooth and easy to travel. My road is like that now, and life is good here with my wife.

Happy Birthday to me!

Post cycle therapy is part of the key to body building

I don't take care of myself as much as I should, but I have stopped some of my bad habits, such as smoking and drinking alcohol. I am not fat but I am a few pounds overweight and really not in good physical shape. I did some weight lifting in years past and enjoyed it very much. I would love to go back to it and hopefully I will have more time soon to devote to it.

Lifting weights and excercising are just a couple of the criteria needed to get your physique back in shape and keep it there. Vitamin supplements and hormone replacement are also very important. I have learned that our body tries to keep itself in balance, but the balance it strives for is what it is most accustomed too. For example if you take substances that will cause an increase over what your body considers normal, your body will respond by temporarily cutting back on it's own production of that substance.

This circumstance makes it necessary for people interested in body building to use something called pct post cycle therapy. In a nutshell, when body builders use anabolic or pro hormones for a period of time, then stop, their body may temporarily not produce enough hormones. Body builders quickly learn that if they don't use post cycle therapy, they may lose all that they have gained, during the time when their body is lagging below normal hormone production. This is where post cycle therapy comes in. It will replace those important hormones until the body once again reaches its normal balance. If you would like to read more about this, click on the link above and see how nutritional supplements are part of the key to having the body you have always dreamed about.

A new target rifle for my birthday!

My birthday is coming soon, and my brother bought me a new gun. It’s being shipped here to me and is on it’s way as I speak. I can’t wait to get it. It is a target 22 magnum.

Gun

Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and I can do some target shooting. This is the same gun that the Olympic contestants use so I bet it is super accurate. I gave my brother a gun many years ago and now he has returned the favor. I told him that when he gets home we will get together and do some target shooting. We both enjoy that a lot. He has a 22 long rifle just like the magnum he bought for me. I have already bought a couple of boxes of shells for the gun and I’m ready to rumble. Come on UPS, don’t fail me now!

The UN wants us disarmed and defenseless

How many of you out there watch the tv show "Top Shot"? I am a fan of the show and I'm glad that it's a big hit. Top Shot pits 16 contestants against each other, with one being eliminated on each contest. The contestants have to make some very hard shots, and it is often is the underdog who wins. One reason I like the show is that it shows guns being used for fun and achievement, which is much unlike what the anti gun nuts make them out to be. I love guns and I am a strong advocate of the NRA. Our freedom is based on our ability to defend ourselves. Our government wants us to believe that we should give up our guns and depend on crooked officials for our safety. This is the same government that has put our country into the mess that we are in right now. They can't protect our country from themselves, much less violent criminals. There is no way that I will turn over my only means of defending myself and my family, and let that bunch of idiots decide my future.

A recent newsletter that I received from the NRA stated that the UN thinks that we Americans should be disarmed so we will be just like every other country in the world; defenseless, and at the mercy of crooked politicians, and the rich companies who buy them. My question is this; "What the heck does the UN care if we American citizens are armed or not"? Not that I really care what they think, but it's enough to make a person wonder just what their future intentions are. I urge all of you out there to buy guns and ammunition for them. If you are one of the ones that think that more gun laws or taking guns from honest citizens will solve our crime problems, let me tell you the real story. Have you been watching the news lately and noticed the riots, assaults, looting, and arson that is going on in London and other UK cities? For your information the UK has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world. It started in 1996 when a deranged man walked into a Dunblane Scotland school and killed 16 kids and one teacher. The government officials decided that taking away all handguns from the citizens was the answer and they did. Unsurprisingly the crime rate soared, and is getting worse by the day. Why? Because criminals have nothing to fear. A gang can break into a house, rob, assault, rape, and pillage, and what is the man of the house going to do about it? He can't fight off a mob with a baseball bat. The same story is true for every city or country in the world that has taken away people's only means of protection. I am not giving up my guns and I hope you won't either. Guns are tools. They can be used for fun, for putting meat on the table, or for shooting the mad rapist that is coming through your window tonight intending to rape and kill your daughter and wife.

Get your piece of paradise, while there is still time

Where better to retire than Hawaii? It's a virtual paradise on earth and it's a place that most of us dream of visiting someday. How much better it would be to live there and enjoy the beauty and culture every day after we retire.

Hawaii reminds me somewhat of the Philippines, which is where my wife is from. The tropics are so beautiful, and the sea is relaxing and adventuresome. I hope we can visit Hawaii someday for a vacation, or maybe to live. There is still some Hawaii real estate for sale that would be a great investment for discerning buyers.

I find the terrain of Hawaii very interesting. When you get away from the beach you can find some of the most beautiful mountains and waterfalls in the world. The food and culture are something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. Don't forget Hawaii when you are considering buying a retirement or vacation property. It's time to get your piece of paradise!

Joining a wine club will give you better wines, at lower prices

What really sets off a meal is a good bottle of wine. It is romantic and it also sets your palate to better appreciate your food. Canadians often have problems obtaining certain wines, because there are so many restrictions about bringing wines into the provinces of Canada. Probably the best way to get the high quality wine you crave is to join a good wine club. That will enable you to get better quality wine, at much cheaper prices, and the wine can be delivered right to your door. The wine club sends out representatives to wineries to sample and taste test the wines. The representatives are all hand picked experts that know what is quality and what is not. That assures the wine club customers of getting the most desired and unique wines. If you decide to join a wine club, pick the membership level that is best for you and your tastes; then sit back and get ready to enjoy the wine!

New car and vacation time

We were on vacation last week. We went to a zoo and then to Branson Missouri. Unfortunately our truck, which we just had some repair work done on a few weeks back, failed us in the market parking lot of a town pretty far from where we live. We had been discussing buying a new car but had decided to wait until next year. After sitting out in the heat for about an hour waiting for help to arrive we changed our mind and went to a car dealership that very evening and bought a new car. It’s a Hyundai Elantra and in addition to being a very pretty car, it also gets terrific gas mileage; up to 40 MPG. Considering that it’s a midsized car, we think that’s pretty good. We had to have our old truck towed and repaired again. Come to find out, it was the fault of some local mechanics that did our repairs a month ago. They left some electrical wires laying on the exhaust manifold and they melted and shorted out. The repairmen are our neighbors and good people so I guess we will not make them pay for it, but its aggravating to say the least. That was the first time in many years that I have taken a car to be repaired, instead of doing it myself, and it may be the last time for awhile. If you want something done right, do it yourself. Anyway we now have a new car and a new payment to make lol, but we both like the car a lot and agreed that we are glad we got it.

MTV is awesome

Guest post written by my buddy Bernardo Graham

I know I'm a little too old to watch so much MTV, but I really just can't get enough of the network. There are so many great reality TV shows on the channel like True Life, the Real World, and all the others I can't think of off the top of my head. Since I got TV from Cleartvbundle.com not that long ago I have been watching more and more TV than ever, but my dial is pretty much always tuned to something MTV related. For example, that new show Teen Mom? I can't get enough of it! I know it's kind of trashy, but I really enjoy seeing how other people live, and it makes me feel better since I'm out of my precarious teen years and seem to have succeeded. I probably should find a hobby that's more worthwhile, but watching MTV doesn't seem like the worst thing I could be doing with my time. It's certainly not music television anymore, but I like it much better in the current format then before!

Cowardly murderer Bin laden is finally where he belongs

Yesterday I heard some DJ’s on the radio talking about how although it probably isn’t a Christian attitude, they can’t help but be happy that Osama Bin Laden is dead. I agree with them. That is one less cowardly murderer that the world has to deal with. From what I read on a news site he was a jerk to the end; even using his wife as a shield to try to keep the bullets away from his worthless body. It didn’t work however; our Seals shot him twice in the head and once in the chest, just to make sure. I think their reasoning was that you can’t kill a snake too many times.

A bunch of Muslim Bin Laden lovers started a page on Facebook that said they were all Bin Laden, I guess trying to infer that they were all joined as one for the cause of killing innocent people. Facebook, to their credit, took their page right off the net. I applaud Facebook for their action. I just wish the Secret Service would look up every idiot that contributed to that page and if they are in this country, out they go, no questions asked, no more politically correct, no more BS.

Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were both nothing but cowardly bullies that used others to do their dirty work, or made sure that they had plenty of backup so they could torture and kill without risk to themselves. At least Hussein met his end with courage. I watched the video of his hanging and he faced it like a man, unlike Bin Laden who tried to use his wife as a shield. What a worthless waste of oxygen he was. Our world is much better off without him. Unfortunately there will probably be a massive fish die off from eating his poison carcass after it was buried at sea. These Muslim terrorist nuts have been convinced that if they die for the cause they will get 40 virgins in the afterlife. What they haven’t been told is that all 40 are camels. Real women wouldn’t touch them(perhaps for fear that they might be used as shields). It is amazing how a man can achieve the hate and disgust of the entire world in 54 years, but its even more amazing that there are fools out there who believed in him. Bin Laden, I echo the words of our ex governor when I say, “welcome to hell”. You put others through enough of it, now its your turn. You have all eternity to enjoy it. Doubt if you will be allowed any virgins to use as shields…

Bad weather and torrential rains lead to several deaths

We have had wave after wave of rain and storms. I think it is more rain than I have ever seen in such a short time. I heard on the news this morning that 11 people have died in our state in the last 2 days from the bad weather. There has been torrential rains, flooding, tornadoes, large hail, strong winds, and it just keeps coming. One of the guys I work with said that his wife couldn't even get home and had to stay in town overnight. Even the highways were flooded and impassable. The weather forecast is finally giving some good weather and sunshine for the next 2 days, but then the rain is supposed to return. A couple of weeks ago a local lake was so low that one of the water treatment plants had to be shut down. Now the lake is in flood stage and they have the flood gates open and are generating electricity with a vengeance.

There are always some tragedies involved when natural disasters hit. A few years ago a lady drove her car into a stream and the flood waters suddenly struck, drowning out the car. She tried to lead her two small children to safety, only to have them ripped from  her hands and swept away. They were both lost. This time an old couple from hear here drove into flood waters and were both drowned. So tragic and un-necessary, but its easy to make a bad judgement. Hopefully the bad weather is nearly over and there will be no more deaths.

High quality medical scrubs, with style

One of my secret dreams was to someday become involved in some type of medical work. I never had the time to take the training, so that dream will probably never be realized. One of my sisters did make it; she has been a scrub nurse for many years and worked in open heart surgery for a long time, before moving from the big city to a smaller town. The medical field is an excellent choice for a career because it is something that will always be needed. I can't imagine a time when technology can replace doctors and nurses with machines.

It is necessary to have proper attire for any job that you do, and nursing is no different. If you are looking to buy nursing scrubs I have some good news for you. You need to check out Blue Sky Scrubs at http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/. They sell the highest quality scrubs at very reasonable prices, and you will get free shipping on orders of $155 or more. There is no risk involved because returns and exchanges are free. All products are extensively tested and checked to make sure they meet rigid standards.

Check out Blue Sky Scrubs, and while you are on their site be sure to sign up for free E-mail discounts and updates. They have a toll free number if you would like to place an order or get more information. Take a look and get ready to escape the mundane world of traditional medical wear. Its time to get in style!

Chimney caps are made to fit most any size and shape of flue

Life here in the country is great! We have so much more freedom, and the people are much nicer than you are likely to find in more populated areas. Our property here is wooded and we love it, not only for the peace and quiet, but also we have enough firewood to last us forever. We don't heat with wood at the present time, but we do have a wood burning fireplace, and in years past I installed another chimney so we have the option of installing a wood burning stove if we someday decide too. Both of our chimneys are metal that go up through the roof and have  chimney caps on top to keep the rain out.

Chimney caps are something that most people take for granted, but there are literally hundreds of different styles and sizes. Getting one that will fit properly to keep bad weather out, but let smoke escape freely is of vital importance to keep your chimney working well. A wood burning stove or fireplace is safe if properly installed and operated.

Chimneys are made of several different materials, such as stainless or galvanized metal, brick, or stone. They can be of different shapes such as round or oval. Luckily there are chimney caps and other accessories made to fit just about any configuration you can think of. In our failing economy and rising fuel prices, I am glad that we have the option of heating for free with wood. It is one less thing to worry about.

Computer games are fun for the whole family

My wife is addicted to online gaming. Personally my favorite computer game is Bejeweled. If you have never played it, you don't know what you are missing. It's just one of the many games you will find at Gamehouse.com. They have games for both Windows and Mac. Some are games that you can download, and some are games that you can play online.

Gamehouse.com is a pretty neat site. They have games for both adults and kids. They make it easy to find new games, and top 100 games, as well as the older tried and true games. Speaking of Bejeweled, they have several versions, so if you are looking for the latest one, look no further.

Computer games can be fun for one or for many. They are a good way to have quality family time. No matter whether you are into action games, brain games, word games, etc; you will likely find them at Gamehouse.com. There are many games that you can try for free so you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Check them out!

Full moon, and I’m so sleepy!

There is a full moon again, and once more my mind is slow and sleepy. For some reason during a full moon, I don’t usually sleep well, and I am certainly not in top form. Luckily things went pretty well at work, in spite of my sluggishness. I am sitting here right now fighting against the need to take a nap. Today is warm, with a breeze. Its so quiet here where we live, and my wife is playing a game on the computer. Maybe I could just doze off for a few minutes without her noticing. Think I’ll give it a try, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………

Joey Houssian says he takes full moral responsibility for his company

Joey Houssian is the representative of Outdoor Adventures, the company that is accused of killing 100 sled dogs when their dog sled ride business took a turn for the worse. He defends their position by pointing out discrepancies in the reports filed by the employee who allegedly killed the dogs. The case is still under investigation, but Houssian says that he takes full moral responsibility for his companies actions. It will be interesting to watch further developments in this case. If the dogs were really killed, whose decision was it? How were they killed? Did anyone try to stop it? It is somewhat difficult to believe that any employee would perform a duty like that. In fact I can't think of a single person that I have personally worked with that would go to that extreme to keep their job. People everywhere are outraged at this act of cruelty, and rightly so, but I can't help but wonder if there may be more to this story than there presently appears to be. Time will tell.

Is Outdoor Adventures guilty, or innocent?

There was an interesting news article awhile back that told the story of how a company called Outdoor Adventures had allegedly killed 100 sled dogs after their dog sled ride business took a turn for the worse. The story, if true, seems to be one of heartless people murdering helpless animals that they no longer needed. The dogs were costly to keep and it is understandable that a company has to make a profit to stay in business, but not through murder. A representative of Outdoor Adventures will attend several media meetings to discuss what really happened, and why. The company contends that they had previously had no idea of the number of dogs killed, or how they were killed. Of course people all over the world are appalled at the callousness of the dog slayings. If you would like to read more about this, click on the link above and read the entire story.

Your company’s image is in its logo

Have you ever noticed how you can recognize many well known companies, just by their logo? A great logo will set a company apart and make them unique to their customers. We see many logo's every day; some are just run of the mill and we hardly notice them, but some make us stop and take notice. If you are the owner of a company, no doubt you want to have a logo that is just right for your business. You need the help of a professional.

I recommend Logo Mojo. In my opinion they are the best among logo designers. Their logo designs are all completely unique and custom designed, just for you. They have been in business since 1992 and have more than 45,000 satisfied customers to prove it. They will give you a personal consultation to find out what you want, and work closely with you from there.

Your company's logo will be the symbol of your brand and professional image. You want it done right the first time, because one chance is really all you will have. More than 60% of those who had their logo designed by non professionals wish they had another chance to get it right, by outsourcing it to a professional. A lot of small business owners use generic icons or do it yourself designs, and they often end up with logos that are exactly like those of  other businesses. There is nothing to set them apart, and when people see their logo, they may even mistakenly associate it with a different company; not good!

Logo Mojo has some of the most creative and talented designers, writers, marketers, etc in the business. They will provide you with 15 to 30 designs and you can choose which you like the best. They will do any changes you want, and make your logo exactly the way you want it. Remember that as your company becomes more successful, more and more people will associate it with the logo you choose. Pick one that you will be proud of later, and that will set your business apart from the pack.

Blanche got a bath, against her will

Our little dog likes to run in the woods, hunting and chasing anything that will run from her. She is a small dog so probably most animals that condescend to run, are only doing it to save Blanche’s pride. We noticed yesterday that Blanche had a terrible smell. She had evidently found something in the woods, perhaps a dead animal, and had spent some time with it. She smelled so bad that even my wife would not give her any love. We decided this morning to give her a bath so we hooked up the garden hose and Bebie got out the perfumed soap. Blanche didn’t enjoy the bath nearly as much as we did. I had to hold her collar tight to keep her from bolting. We got the job done and when we released her, she took off like a streak of lightening. It was funny because of course the first thing she did was to go roll in the dirt to get the water off her. She was cold so she started running and trying to play with us. She would look at us with a look that said “come on, lets rumble”! But when we got close to that garden hose, she wouldn’t come to us.

Blanche

Blanche is a good little dog and seems like part of our family. She pouts just like a kid when we make her stay in her pen or scold her for something. Bebie, my wife, gave her a hot dog after the bath this morning so I think we are once again in her good graces.

Now you can put physical gold into IRA accounts, and protect your future

Our economy is so uncertain that many people are worried about the security of our nation, and even the lasting value of our money. What can a person do to make sure that your savings retain their value? It's really pretty simple; do what many other investors are doing and start a gold IRA account. Gold has already become the top choice for people seeking an alternative for 401k, 403b, IRA, and Pension Plans.

Investors can now have IRA gold that is actually physical gold in their account. It no longer has to be based on paper or electronic money. Gold is something that has always kept its value in all the countries of the world.

Check out Gold Coins Gain online for more information about buying and investing gold. They buy and sell gold such as gold bullion, certified gold coins, and they sell other precious metals as well. There is probably no better investment in the world than gold, and if its in the form of collectible coins, so much the better. Let me give you an example of what gold can do for your future; $25,000 worth of gold bullion bought in the early 1970's and kept until today, would be worth a cool $525,000. The same investment in limited mintage investor gold coins would today be worth more than 1 1/3 million dollars!

If you would like to find out more about doing a gold IRA transfer and how to get in on the profits, be sure to go to Gold Coins Gain and let them help you find the way to future security.

Canning green beans, and shooting my new pellet rifle

Once again we are in the process of canning some food. This time its green beans. I got a good deal on some at the grocery store this evening and now my wife is preparing them for canning. We are slowly but surely getting a supply of food built up.

It’s weird how money doesn’t seem to buy anything lately. The high price of fuel has driven up the price of everything else. Every week we plan to take it a little easier on our grocery budget, but every week we fail. It seems to cost more and more each week to get by. I don’t see how people with low income can even afford to eat.

We got lucky at work this week. We were supposed to work Saturday and we were dreading it, but our boss called it off so now we have two days to rest up and catch up on our home chores. I am pretty tired and glad to get to sleep in tomorrow.

I had an escapade with my new pellet rifle yesterday evening. I was outside shooting it and couldn’t hit anything. I was surprised, because it is usually accurate. I shot until my arm was exhausted from cocking it, and still couldn’t hit anything. Finally out of disgust, I decided that I would remove the scope and see if I could hit the target better with open sights. That’s when I discovered that the scope was loose. The recoil of the gun had shaken the screws loose and that was why I couldn’t hit the target. By then I had the scope settings so messed up that it took me another thirty minutes to get it reset. The accuracy of that gun is not quite equal to a firearm, but the power is amazing. Cans don’t have a chance.

Everyone have a great weekend, enjoy this wonderful weather!

Shopping for the Season!

Guest post written by Alexa Davies

Now that I'm living in New York, I have to get used to weather that I am just not used to down south. My husband and I have had to do a lot of shopping to bulk up our wardrobes with clothing that is suitable for this kind of weatherÉI've had to buy several different kinds of boots for work, and I've definitely picked up more in the ways of long sleeved shirts and leggings! But who can complain about shopping? And even better: the cold weather situation has also given my husband an incentive to come shopping, which has been fun for me. I can never get the man to come along most days, ha!

Now that we are fully equipped to go out in the cold weat! her, we've noticed the house might need a little insulation, as well. The windows are pretty drafty, and it's also hard to keep the house warm. While we can shop for coats and boots, neither one of us are really knows what to do for the houseÉI think it might be in our advantage to look into Home Pro Improvement options or something rather. We'll see!

Get your carpet cleaned by the very best in the business

Some of the most expensive items in our home is our carpet and upholstery. That is why we need to have them professionally cleaned by a reputable company that will do it right and safely. So how do we choose the best company for the job? First of all, check out their references. If other customers are pleased with their work, you probably will be also. Find out how much experience they have, for obvious reasons. Find out which cleaning system they use, and finally see if they are willing to back up their work with a warranty. After all that is said and done, one company stands head and shoulders above the rest.  I recommend The Steam Team from Austin.

Do you need Carpet cleaning Mountain City? How about Carpet cleaning Bear Creek? If so give The Steam Team a call, or check them out on the net. They will give your carpet a professional cleaning, do spot pre-testing, spot stain removal, and carpet grooming. Their attention to detail is one of the many things that makes their service desirable.

The Steam Team does both residential and commercial carpet cleaning, and they are simply the best. If you need Carpet cleaning Bee Caves, Jonestown, Hutto, Hayes, Kyle, or any other place in the Austin area, be sure to give The Steam Team a try. Your carpet will thank you for it!

We are learning to preserve food by canning

My wife and I are getting into something that we hope will help us with our food budget, and also give us healthier food to eat. We are learning to preserve food by canning. We picked up our new pressure canner yesterday at the department store and today is our first venture into that type of food preservation. We are canning chicken. It is fresh chicken, we processed them this moring. We are doing 7 chickens in all. Right now we are pressure cooking the chicken, and when that is finished we will remove the meat from the bones, put them into jars, and back into the cooker they will go for about 1 1/2 hours. If all goes well we will have healthy tasty chicken preserved, and they should last for a few years, if we don't eat them first.

My sister has been canning chicken, among other things, for many years. She gave us a couple of jars that she had processed and we made some chicken pot pie last week. It was scrumptious! The canned chicken is so much better than what you can buy at the store. We have too many live chickens and have been paying way too much money out for food for them. Now by processing some, we have lowered our feed bill, and got some healthy food in the deal.

My parents preserved a lot of food by canning. I grew up watching and helping, but I really never learned much except for how to wash the jars. It was a job that I hated back then, but now I am interested in learning more about the canning process. The way the world is going right now is scary and we want to have some insurance that we can make it if things keep getting worse. My wife and I plan to can lots of vegetables, and also things like brown beans, chili, stew, soup, etc. Then when we want some tasty food and don't feel up to cooking it, or if we are just in a hurry and want some tasty home cooked food, all we will have to do is open a jar and voila, the food is served! I will try to write a few more articles later as we learn more about the process. Now its back to watching the pressure canner to make sure the pressure is ok. Have a great weekend!

Paintball guns are adventurous fun

I just ordered something that I have been wanting for many years; a high powered pellet rifle. Now I have one more toy to get and I will have achieved my goal for future fun. My brother and I have wanted to get some paintball guns and play war games. I usually shop online, so I did some surfing to find who had paintball guns for sale at the best prices. Lo and behold, I found "Ultimate Paintball" and they have exactly what I want. They have paintball guns, masks, loaders, tanks, extra barrels, etc. All the best brands are there; BT, JT, Tippmann, Ninja, Spyder, and many more. I can't wait! My wife and I own some property that is wooded and has some bluffs and lots of cover. I can only imagine the fun we will have when my wife, brother, and I are stalking each other with our new paintball guns. The prices I found at Ultimate Paintball are obviously the lowest around, and as an added bonus, we will get free shipping.

If you are into war games like we are, and want to have some terrific fun without spending a fortune, check out Ultimate Paintball online. They also have paintball grenades, vests, and even sniper rifles. Spring is here and fun is in the air, let the games begin!

Do all of your local search from just one site

Sometimes the vast array of choices in our modern world are enough to overwhelm us. The more we try to make things simple, the more complicated they usually get. Even in local yellowpages you have so many to choose from; such as Citysearch.com, Yelp.com, Yellowpages.com, and Superages.com. Wouldn't it be nice if some site would conglomerate it all and let you do all of your local search from just one site!

There is good news! There is a website exactly like that! It is called Local.com, and it is a local search engine that enables the user to easily search online for local restaurants businesses, get driving directions, read or even write reviews. You can get business hours and contact numbers, everything you need, and you never again have to skip from place to place, spending too much time looking for information. Local.com is actually partnered with all of the above mentioned sites and allows you the advantage of using them all from just one site.

It is good to know that in our ever changing, overcomplicated world, there are still some logical choices. There are still  people out there who really are trying to make our life better. Make your logical choice today and check out Local.com!

Watching my weight and eating right is my goal this summer

Spring is here at last! The weather here is absolutely great; its unseasonably warm, lots of sunshine, and everything is turning green. Soon it will be time for something that is not so enjoyable; mowing the lawn. Usually my wife drives the rider mower and I do the trimming. I have gained a few pounds this year and I need to lose some of this extra weight, hopefully before mowing time comes around. If I don't lose the weight by dieting, I will probably lose it from the extra exercise from working outside in the yard and garden this summer. There are many different kinds of diets that a person can try. There are of course the never ending fad diets, diet pills, even special diets and Bariatric Advantage supplements for people who have, or are planning to undergo surgery.

There is a lot of hype about dieting and exercise, but they can be extremely effective, especially when used together. Keeping our bodies healthy and in good physical condition is like putting money in our life bank. I am an older man married to a much younger lady, and I want to have many years to spend with her in good health. I stopped smoking several years ago, I am trying to make healthier decisions on what food I eat, but there are still issues that I need to address to keep myself in good health. I am lucky that I don't have to take any prescription medicines yet, but if I don't watch my weight, blood pressure, etc, the time may come soon when my body starts to fail. One health decision that my wife and I have made recently is that we intend to grow more of our food, and learn to preserve it by canning, drying, and freezing. Home grown veggies, and even some of our meat. Mmmmm I am going to enjoy this summer.

We think some window box planters would look nice on our home

Spring is officially here, and I am so ready for it. The constant cold and being inside of the winter months really get me down sometimes. My wife and I have been making a new garden this year. We plan to preserve some of our produce by canning. We hope to have a great crop this year so we can save some money on our grocery bill. We are also hoping that our flowers will grow well. We have found some nice window boxes that we think would look great on our home. It makes a house look so classy to have beautiful plants growing in flower boxes.

Nothing says warm weather and good cheer as much as having bright flowers and a productive garden. We have discovered that we can buy a new window box made from our choice of materials, including vinyl, metal, wood, and fiberglass. We think that copper or aluminum would be our best choice because they will last for many years. We could just mount them on the house and they should be pretty much maintenance free.

After considering the options we realized that we can grow not only flowers in a window box, but also herbs and some kinds of veggies. That makes it even more desirable. Spring is a time for renewing and rebirth. We have a lot of work that we want to do here on our property this year to improve the looks. Hopefully we will get it all done before winter comes again.

Country life is so peaceful and fulfilling

This is March 17, but it feels more like May or June. It is unseasonably warm. My wife and I have been working outside for the last 2 days. We decided to make a new garden spot because our old garden gets too much shade and doesn’t produce well. We live in the mountains and there are so many rocks mixed with the soil that it takes a lot of work to make a garden. We have tilled the new spot over and over, picked up what rocks come to the top, then till it again, pick up more rocks, etc. We are both worn out and our backs are sore and tired lol. We are not complaining though. Its so good to just be outside after being inside all winter. I jokingly told my wife that I am glad that tomorrow is a work day. I need to go back to work to get some rest.

This mountain is so peaceful and quiet this afternoon. Everywhere I look there is tranquility and sunshine. I am now doing nothing, just sitting here in my comfy chair, thinking about a nice shower and some tv later. I love the country life; cities make me nervous although I do see many things that are interesting and fun when I visit. My wife is just like me in her tastes. She stays here all week, alone all day while I am at work. By the weekend she is usually ready for a trip to town. However, within an hour or 2 after getting to town she is ready to come home. When we down the driveway to our home she usually says her version of the old saying “There is no place like home”. She says “Home is the best place”. I agree with her and I thank God for her and for my peaceful tranquil life here in the country.

You will be amazed at the low prices of these eyeglasses

I have said it many times before, but I will say it again; shopping online will save you big bucks, not to mention the time and gasoline you will save. We all know how difficult it is to make ends meet, especially now with the recession and rising fuel prices. Life goes on in spite of the difficulties we have, and we still have the same needs, no matter what the price. I have some exciting news for you that can save you a lot of money on at least one item in your life.

Do you or any of your family wear eyeglasses? Chances are that some of you do, so you know firsthand just how expensive they are. No more! Check out Zenni Optical online and you will find the very lowest prices on some of the most stylish eyeglasses on the market today. Zenni Optical cuts out the middleman. They manufacture their own high quality eyeglasses using the most modern materials and methods, and they sell them direct to you. Zenni Optical does not sell name brand eyeglasses that can be so expensive. Brand names rely on heavy advertising, and that drives the price up to often exorbitant amounts.

Now that I have piqued your interest, let me tell you this. I saw high quality, stylish eyeglasses at Zenni Optical that sell for only $6.95! Less than the price of a cheap pair of sunglasses at a department store. These glasses would be great for kids and adults alike. You could buy several pairs so you always have an extra pair on hand. Keep a pair in every vehicle, another pair on your nightstand. Best of all, you get high quality at the lowest prices imaginable. I wish more merchants would give so much value for the dollar as Zenni Optical. Our country would leave this recession behind and flourish once more. Zenni Optical has been featured in a Brooklyn Liberal Examiner article, check them out!

As usual, a few selfish idiots ruin it for us all

The price of gasoline is going steadily up. Its ridiculous really, and it will sink our nation, and probably the whole world if it isn’t stopped soon. I have no idea why our government won’t stand up to the oil companies and set some rules and regulations for them to follow. Price gouging is supposed to be illegal. It makes me wonder how much money is being handed off under the table to the ones that have the power to stop this ignorance, if they chose too. Its hard to comprehend the greed that drives some people. Companies are driven by the idea that they have to make profits “right now” to please their stockholders, and sometimes common sense takes a back seat. What the idiots don’t seem to realize is that the more gasoline goes up, the more everything else goes up, and the less a dollar is worth. They make a lot more dollars, but they can buy less with them. That standard affects us all. Every week we see our paychecks buy less and less. If it keeps going, soon we may fulfill the Biblical prediction that we will throw our money into the streets because it is worthless. Right now a one dollar bill and a similar sized piece of toilet tissue are close to the same value. That is an exaggeration of course, but maybe not for long.

It seems that mankind is capable of nearly anything that pertains to technology. Unfortunately we still do not have enough sense to govern ourselves with decency and common sense. We hasten our own end with greed and our desire to have it all right now. There have been a couple of emails circulating for awhile that sicken me. One shows a car belonging to an oil sheik that is covered with diamonds, inside and out. The other email is also of a car. It has a body made entirely of white gold. How selfish and ignorant these people must be to do something so crude while millions around the world are starving. Is it really worth it to them? I think these people had better enjoy their ill gotten toys in this world; the next world may not be so much fun for them….

Shop online with Shopwiki, and save money and time

My wife and I love to shop online. We have found that we nearly always get the best bargains and certainly the most choices, and it doesn't cost us anything to browse. With the price of gasoline going steadily up and up, its nice to just sit here at home and look at what interests us. That way all of our extra money can be used for buying things we need and want, instead of further enriching the oil companies by wasting gasoline driving from store to store.  My wife prefers to shop for health and beauty items, while I am more into organic health and beauty products. We buy a lot of bath and body care products also, and there are some terrific deals online for all of these items.

One of our biggest assets to shopping online is Shopwiki.com. They are like a search engine for shopping that will bring up many more items per search than ordinary searches do. What is different about Shopwiki.com is that they crawl the web, similar to the way Google sends crawlers to websites to check them out. While most shopping sites only bring up stores that pay them, Shopwiki.com brings up every site that pertains to the item you are searching for, even if they don't receive payment for the listing. You and I are the ones that receive the rewards, and best of all, their service is free of charge to use.

Its time to start girding our loins and find ways to make our money go further. I hate the thought that most of my money gets put into my trucks gas tank every week. We all still have a chance to maintain our accustomed way of life, if we make wise decisions. One of those decisions needs to be that we will do more shopping online to get the best deals, and save gasoline and time. Shopwiki.com is a powerful tool to assist us in achieving that goal.

George Strait is amazing

I like George Strait. The man has been around for many years, and he is still going strong. You have to respect the distance he has come in a dog eat dog world. He seems like such a nice guy that its amazing he could go so far. I guess the old adage that “nice guys finish last” doesn’t pertain to him.

Anytime you turn on the radio, or go listen to a live band, you will hear George songs. All day today I have been singing to myself at work. The song “Old Troubadour” has stuck in my head and I can’t get it out. I looked up the lyrics online last night and now I am singing it constantly. Unfortunately my voice is not as good as George’s.

There are many music artists but I think most will soon be forgotten. Only a few have risen above the crowd to the point that their songs will be around for many years to come. George Strait is one, and there are others like Merle Haggard and George Jones in the country music genre. They are to country what Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones are to rock. I play music also and when I was young I wanted to play with a successful band. Actually I did play with a semi successful band but I soon learned that it wasn’t the romantic life that I had dreamed it to be. Its hard work, little or no home life, and a lot of disappointments. I have to respect anyone that has made it as big as George Strait, and still remained a nice approachable human being.

Fill your prescriptions online and save a bundle!

You have probably noticed that you can save money by shopping online. Not only do you get the best deals, you also save a bundle on gasoline. You may be surprised to learn that you can also save money by shopping for prescription and OTC drugs online. There is a Canadian pharmacy called Canada Drug Center that has the lowest prices you are likely to find. Shopping on their site is extremely easy, fast, and secure. They have a toll free number that you can call to  buy Celebrex, Evista, Flomax, and many more drugs, or you can order by fax or mail if you prefer.

The savings on these  Canada drugs is huge! I was looking at some of the prices earlier and I noticed savings up to 90% off regular price. I need to buy some Nexium and I am glad that I found Canada Drug Center. The typical price for 105 Nexium pills is $479.15, but at Canada Drug Center the same prescription is only $59.45! Thats a tremendous difference. When you call the toll free number you will notice that the customer service is also top notch.

Its always important to save money, but in todays sluggish economy its more important than ever. A lot of people simply cannot afford the medicines they need to stay healthy. I want to get the word out to a lot of people about how much they can save at Canada Drug Center online. It will make the difference for many people's health and well being; perhaps even their lives.

If all else fails, read the instructions

My wife and I had a wonderful Valentines Day together. We celebrated early by going shopping for a new tv stand for our LCD tv. Luckily we both agreed on which one we liked most and brought it home. I was somewhat intimidated by all of the parts to put together, but I opened them all, laid them out on a piece of cardboard, and labeled them plainly with a magic marker so I could locate them easily. It was kind of funny because half of the nuts and bolts were extra. They were included simply to install the stand to practically any tv made. I had opened about a dozen or more packages and done all of that labeling for no reason. We packed up the extra’s and kept them for future use. The one time in my life when I try to plan ahead on putting something together, I even read ahead on the instructions, it did no good. From now on its back to my old ways. I will put together everything I can, and THEN read the instructions if I run into a snag. My motto from now on is, “if all else fails, read the instructions”. It works nearly half the time…..

Child gates and pet gates keep your children and pets away from danger

Keeping your young child safe is a full time job, especially if you have a stairway. You think you are watching your child closely, then you turn around and they are at the head of the stairs ready to fall down. What you need is a baby gate. If your stairway is effectively blocked off you have no worries about your child getting near it. Not only can you block the stairway, but you can also use baby gates to seal off any room that you don't want your child to have access too. Its a measure of safety that you simply can't provide with vigilance.

Baby gates are an essential item to keeping your child safe, but the same product is handy for pets. Pet gates can be used to block your pets from any room in the house, or to simply keep them confined to one room while you are at work. I used one here in our home when we had inside pets. We had dogs that were house broken, unless we were gone, and then they would pout and do what they could to make sure that we understood their displeasure at being left alone. We used pet gates to confine them to a room with an uncarpeted floor, and then if they made a mess it was easy to clean up.

Baby gates and pet gates are easy to use and provide an extra measure of safety for your child and pets. When it comes to children and stairways, sometimes you don't get a second chance. Better safe than sorry.

Find the Best Online Colleges Easily

You are ready to continue your schooling; you have decided that you will attend college online so you can learn in the comfort of your home; and you are trying to figure out which is the best online college for you. There are many to choose from, and they have many differences. Making the right choice can be a pretty time consuming task; nearly impossible for the average person with limited time, so what if I told you that the job has already been done for you?

There is a website called Degree Jungle that has taken the time to sort through all of the differences to find the top online schools. They have ranked the top 64 schools from number 1 all the way to 64. The schools are judged according to criteria such as average net price, acceptance rate, retention rates, graduation rates, and much more. Each school is then given an index rate up to 100 percent. In fact the top rated online college has a 100 percent rating, but it is much less expensive than some of the schools with lower ratings.

If you are ready to pursue an online degree, you need to check out Degree Jungle. They have taken the online education jungle, and turned it into an easily navigable road to higher learning. Their services are like having a GPS for online colleges. Give them a try and you will save money while getting the best chance possible for bettering your education and your life.

This last winter storm has broken all the records

We had a pretty mild winter, until just a couple of weeks ago. When the weather turned bad, the bottom fell out. We have had wave after wave of snow and extreme cold. Here where we live a couple of inches of snow is about the norm, with up to 6 or 8 inches possible. Once every several years we may get a foot or more of snow. We shattered that record this year. Some local places recorded 30 inches of snow and last night the temperature in a nearby city was minus 18 degrees. I have seen the mercury drop down to 12 below but that is very unusual. Zero is considered very cold here, and some winters we don’t make it that cold. Actually the deep snow and super frigid temperatures are kind of frightening to us. Our homes are not designed for weather that extreme. A local police station caved in yesterday. It just couldn’t support the load of snow.

We have a saying here “If you don’t like the weather, just hang around for a few minutes; its bound to change”. That seems to be the case this time as well. In just 2 days from now the temperature is forecast to be about 50 degrees, and the next day nearly 60. Wow, that sounds great, but when this snow melts its going to be a muddy mess! I’m ready for the warmer weather. My wife and I have cabin fever pretty bad. We are going Saturday to do something together for an early Valentines Day celebration.

Lets get some backbone and cut out the lying and cheating in our shallow society

I just don’t understand when people are willing to lie, cheat, or steal to get what they want. What good is it if you don’t get it fair and square? Call me old fashioned, but I just don’t approve of our world and the shallowness and greed of our society. We are only here for a few years, and the old saying “you can’t take it with you” is absolutely true. Having the trust and respect of others is worth more than any material things this world has to offer. A lie is a coward’s way out. I say if we are too weak to face the truth, we don’t amount to much. Of course its easier to lie our way out of situations, but nearly invariably we will get found out sooner or later, and then we have forever lost the trust and respect of those involved. Much better to get our tail out from between our legs and just tell the truth to start with. The same goes for stealing; It is a cowardly cheap way of trying to do what most people refer too as “bettering themselves”. It is certainly not bettering yourself, its making yourself look cheap. If you are not big or smart enough to earn it fairly, then at least be big enough to do without it.

CD and DVD printers and duplicators are a necessary part of today’s world

If it is stored only on your computer, its not safe. Never, ever trust your computer to keep your important files safe. Hard drives fail, computers get stolen, they get lost, or damaged, and then your memories and personal items may be lost forever. Everything that you are not willing to lose needs to be backed up. Your photo's, MP3's, movies, etc, as well as any other info that you wish to keep. I have personally lost things in the past that are not replaceable.

With today's technology its so easy to backup your files onto CD's or DVD's and use DVD duplicators to make copies, whether it be one or many. For example, you may have a lot of MP3's that you want to share with your friends. Most electronic equipment actually drops in price over time, and technology continually changes, so its best to use a DVD duplication guide to keep abreast of changing prices and technology.

DVD and CD printers are a must for businesses, and also very useful at home. They vary from fully automated systems to small desktop models. There are many manufacturers to choose from. I love technology and watching things change over the years. I have seen a lot of changes in our world. Things we didn't dare to dream of when I was young, is now common.

Global warming or global freezing?

I’m loving it! It just keeps snowing and snowing. We really don’t have a huge amount on the ground, compared to some other places, but its a lot for us. I have been off work all week, getting some much needed rest. What was forecasted to be only a dusting of snow up to possibly an inch or so, has now been changed to a possible 4 to 6 inches. I hope it snows 3 times that much.

Is this the global warming that we have been hearing so much about? Lol, this is the coldest weather and the biggest snowstorms and blizzards that we have seen in years. Maybe we should refigure things, and rename global warming. I think global freezing might be adequate. Whatever it is, I am enjoying it a lot.

Do your part in recycling, and conserve our resources

It alarms me sometimes how quickly we are using up our natural resources. If we don't all learn to recycle soon, our children are going to have a much different way of life than we do now. Rest assured that they won't think highly of us for wasting a world full resources in just a few generations. We are all familiar with recycling paper and cans, but when it comes to electronic recycling we are usually uninformed.

You should check out a web site called Round 2. Their goal is electronics recycling and computer recycling. They specialize in electronics test and repair, proper product disassembly, global remarketing, and commodity recycling. They do it all in an environmentally friendly way that gives the largest economic yield, while keeping the impact to our earth to a minimum.

Round 2 serves industrial, municipal, commercial, and governmental needs and they would like to serve you. There is a lot of information on their web site. You can read up on subjects such as recycling, refurbishment, recovery, and remarketing. Do your part to keep our earth green, and to make our resources last. Check out Round 2 now!

I haven’t got to work much this week, and I’m loving it!

I have been off work most of this week because of the huge winter storm and severe cold weather. Its great! I was burned out at work and the time off is just what I needed to keep my sanity for a little while longer. We were originally going to return to work tomorrow and I was dreading it so bad, because the cold is still really deep and penetrating. My boss called earlier and said that we will wait another day. Freedom again! Lol, I was so glad to hear that. Of course my paycheck is going to suffer, but sometimes money isn’t the most important thing. I have gotten to spend a few extra days with my wife, enjoying each others company. That can’t be replaced with money. We have cooked together, watched movies, played on the computers, talked, and just enjoyed life. We even drove our tractor up the driveway in the snow and ice yesterday. We nearly froze, but we have enjoyed it all. I’m not sure that I can say the same for our chickens. Lol, they are cold and not quite as lively as usual. We have been giving some of their feed to the little birds in our yard. The birds are lucky because everything is covered with ice and snow so food is hard to find.

We are going to buy a new residential mailbox for our property

We live in a pretty remote area. In fact, it is so remote that we have a post office box in town where we get our mail. Mail is delivered here though and we really need to get a nice mailbox to put at the end of our driveway. We found a place online called Mailbox and Beyond that has exactly what we need. They sell mailboxes, home and garden decor, and address plaques, all at some of the lowest prices around.

I bookmarked the site because they have exactly what we need, including mailbox posts. That way we know that our mailbox is installed correctly and will last for many years.

There is free shipping on some products, and a 110% low price guarantee. We can order from their web site securely, or if we prefer we can order by calling their toll free number. My wife and I have been discussing how much we need a residential mailbox here at our home, and now we can get one delivered right to our door, and save a lot of time and gasoline compared to shopping in town. Shopping online is great!

Expert catering makes for a successful picnic

I remember how the company I used to work for always had a yearly picnic. What yummy food we had! Most company picnics are catered. That provides quality fun and food for both the employees and staff of the company, so they can enjoy their day of celebration together. Now with our modern technology its possible to find caterers online. I found one called MBS Caterserve that provides picnic catering NJ, and also  picnic catering NY.

MBS Caterserve provides services for events such as union picnics, family reunions, high school reunions, church picnics, and company picnics . They have been doing it for a long time, since 1993, so they have all of the expertise they need to make your social event a huge success. They can provide not only the food, but also entertainment and activities to keep your guests entertained.

If you have a special event coming up, I suggest that you check out MBS Caterserve online. You will find contact numbers, including a fax number. You can fill out a form if you choose, or call directly. Make your up and coming party the talk of the town with MBS Caterserve!
